Zenimax extends 'Redguard' trademark, could be next Skyrim DLC

Bethesda has kept the Skryim content coming since its release in 2011. The most recent add-on, "Dragonborn," was a beefy extension, adding hours upon hours of new content into the existing game. But that might not be the last downloadable pack for the successful RPG.
More hints and allusions to what future DLC might entail has been found in some of the game's files before, but a lingering trademark may give the clearest indication of Bethesda's future plans. Zenimax has continually renewed the trademark for "Redguard," which was originally filed back in March 2011, but still hasn't done anything with the name. The publisher most recently re-upped the name in August 2012 as a "downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices." Our sister site OXK UK pointed out the trademark is set to expire again in Feburary of this year, though Zenimax still has plenty of time to renew it again.
Though Bethesda hasn't hinted at whether or not there will be more DLC for Skyrim, the Elder Scrolls franchise will undoubtedly continue. There's a slight chance "Redguard" could have something to do with an upcoming add-on, but there's also a slight percentage this could be used for a future Elder Scrolls title. Hammerfell, home of the Redguard, does border both Cyrodil and Skryim, both of which regions were home to the last two entries in the series. Unfortunately, until a more official statement is made by Bethesda, we'll just have to hope they're not quite finished with Skyrim just yet.
