Witcher 2 video details changes for Xbox 360 version
For the love all things swords 'n' spellcasting, don't call the new Xbox version of the acclaimed previously PC-only RPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings a "port." With the changes, enhancements, and additions โ including all-new story missions and cinematics โ that developer CD Projekt RED has done to the PC version to get it up and running on Xbox, this is an "adaption," according to the Poland-based team. Retooling controls schemes to suit the Xbox controller, as well as packing in some new characters and adventures in the game's later chapters, this "Enhanced Edition" of the game centered on a monster-slaying warrior named Geralt de Rivia and his ill-fated tussles with the local ruling royalty aims to be a refined and retooled incarnation of its PC-rooted sibling. (Though the team states in the video that the PC will be receiving much of these "enhancements" and adapted goodies from the Xbox version on their platform soon enough.)
With a release date of April 21, we're itching to do the 50-plus hour dance in Geralt's world to find out for ourselves if Witcher 2 will be the RPG to run the race against the Skyrims and Dragon Ages on 360. Until we get a chance to do exactly that, you won't hear that four-letter word that starts with "p" and rhymes with "fort" out of us.
