UFC stars run wild on Undisputed cover, WWE roster
The UFC is big business, what with the league growing by leaps and bounds (and soon set to become an Xbox video provider). THQ knows this more than most due to the company's ownership of the league's video game license, and capitalized with two big UFC-related announcements, one of which ties into the company's WWE franchise.
As you can see in the video above, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will be returning to WWE video games. WWE '12 marks Lesnar's first wrestling game appearance since 2003's WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain. Lesnar marks the final addition to WWE '12's release-day roster. Here's hoping we'll see some other great UFC-WWE crossover stars like Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn step back into the Xbox's squared circle.
While Lesnar puntcuates his return by stating "Only in WWE '12," we're having a hard time believing he won't be heading into the octagon for UFC Undisputed 3 (especially since he has a fight scheduled for December 30). We do know that he won't have a repeat appearance as Undisputed's cover star, as that glory will go to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who defeated the company's other champions in an online vote. Silva is currently the company's longest running champion, having won his title five years ago this Friday.
You can check out Silva's cover below, his cover announcement here, Lesnar's WWE reveal here, and expect previews of both games on OXM Online over the next few days. Are you planning on picking up either of these grappling games over the next few months?
