Trials Evolution has drawn over 500,000 players worldwide in its first month of release, according to figures announced today by publisher Ubisoft and developer RedLynx. Players have used the Trials Evolution track editor to create over 60,000 new tracks and skill games.

It looks like Gearbox Studios' Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, the Inglorious Basterds-inspired take on Gearbox's long-running WWII FPS franchise, is going to be MIA at this year's E3, with few assurances of continued development. While Gearbox will attend E3 this year, the developer is primarily talking up Borderlands 2 and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Today Ubisoft announced first details about the Far Cry 3 multiplayer beta, which will run for two weeks this summer on Xbox Live for owners ofGhost Recon: Future Soldier. Beta matches will permit sixteen players per match, with each player able to choose one of six classes for play in a variety of modes.

Novelist John L. Beiswenger has filed suit against Ubisoft, alleging that the Assassin's Creed series is excessively similar to his novel Link and therefore infringes upon his copyrights. Beiswenger's suit seeks to prevent the release of Assassin's Creed III and damages for every Assassin's Creed product ever released,
