THQ & Obsidian teaming up on South Park RPG. UPDATE: It's 2D!

Even though South Park has been undergoing a bit of a gaming renaissance due to the one-two punch of Xbox Live Arcade-exclusives (2009's Let's Go Tower Defense Play and next Spring's Tenorman's Revenge), we thought the days of fully-fledged South Park games died with South Park Rally and Chef's Luv Shack. Fortunately, the world's favorite fourth-graders will return to retail (it seems) with their most promising adventure yet, as Game Informer has revealed South Park: The Game, a role-playing game in development from Obsidian (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2, Alpha Protocol) to be published by THQ.
While series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have washed their hands of the PlayStation era South Park games as products made with very little of their involvement, the masterminds are putting far more of their work into South Park: The Game, as they'll be writing the script, doing the voices (much like they do for the show), and serving vital roles on the development team.
South Park: The Game is due out in 2012. You can see more of it at Game Informer. For now, what are you hoping to see in the game?

UPDATE: According to a bumped thread on NeoGAF, it looks like this game will, in fact, be 2D and have the same Flash-animation look of the show, as back in May Obsidian had a job listing for "a 2D character animator to work on a highly-stylized, high-profile role-playing game." The ad also mentioned that, "This person should be comfortable creating characters in 2D, and have a strong understanding of traditional animation principles. Knowledge of Flash is strongly preferred." Whew, now we don't have to worry about it being a 3D monstrosity like the PS1/N64-era first-person shooter.
Thanks NeoGAF.

This is SO CLOSE to my dream South Park game, which would be a point-and-click adventure game (similar to 1995's Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity) written and voiced by Matt and Trey. Still, I'm really, really excited that this is happening, and especially that Obsidian is doing it. However, if this is 3D I might throw myself off the Golden Gate Bridge.
