The Saints Row series is pretty ridiculous, but in a fun way. It never takes itself very seriously, and does a great job lampooning more realistic video games. We really enjoyed Saints Row: The Third, and though the game hasn’t even released yet, THQ is betting you’ll like it a lot too. So much so that developer Volition is already working on Saints Row 4. At least, that’s what THQ’s Executive VP of Core Games Danny Bilson would have us believe. In an interview with G4, Bilson actually outed the sequel to the sequel that hasn’t hit store shelves. Not only does Bilson say he knows what’s going to be happening in Saints Row 4, but he also says it will be “wilder” than Saint’s Row: The Third.

If it were any other game or developer, we’d be skeptical of such statement. But this is Saints Row we’re talking about. Every moment of the game is more outrageous than the last, and Saints Row: The Third takes things to an all-new level. If Bilson and Volition say that the next game is going to push the boundaries of weirdness even further, we’re inclined to believe them. It’s a little odd though that they’re already saying the next one will be better, despite the fact that people haven’t even had a chance to play the current iteration. You don’t often hear publishers talk about how great the sequel will be before letting people have a chance to enjoy the game currently on store shelves. That said, we can’t wait to see what Volition has up their sleeves for Saints Row 4.
