The tens: 8 games that have received OXM's highest score
With Gears of War 3 earning our highest-possible score (trust us when we say an 11 will never happen), we've decided to look back on each of the games that have earned a ten-out-of-ten score from our trusted editorial team. Since the first review was published in Official Xbox Magazine back in our December 2001 issue, only eight (of the hundreds of games we've rated) have earned 10s. The gallery below shows what we had to say about each game, with links to the reviews.
Note: During the original Xbox era, OXM rated games on a 100-point scale from 0.0 to 10.0. Two games earned scores that were closer to 10 than they were to 9.5 --Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Burnout Revenge. Would they have earned 10s if we rated games on a .5 scale back then? The world will never know.

I don't know, Fight Night feels like the odd one in there. I usually agree wholeheartedly with OXM, but I have always felt there were two more games that should be on this list: Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Those are both near perfect games.
