Skyrim’s Dawnguard DLC gets its first trailer
Earlier this month, Bethesda revealed “Dawnguard" as the first expansion for Skyrim. The developer promised more details at E3, but instead of making fans wait another few days, Bethesda has released a trailer for the DLC showcasing just what players can expect when the add-on arrives later this summer.
As you can no doubt tell from the video, “Dawnguard” pits you smack dab in the middle of an ongoing battle between vampires and the Dawnguard, an elite guild focused on removing the vampire threat from the lands of Tamriel. In addition to the master vampires demoed in the Bethesda Game Jam, the trailer also shows off crossbows, mounted combat, new spectral mounts, and new types of dragons that go underwater. There are also some new enemy types of both the giant and human-sized variety, along with fancy new armors and some spooky new locales. Presumably, players will be able to choose siding with one faction or the other.
There’s still no date, but “Dawnguard” will be available on the Xbox 360 first for 1600MSP. We can’t wait to see more of the expansion at E3, and hope we won’t have to wait too much longer to jump back into action to defend the realm… or destroy it.
