Silent Hill: Downpour Delayed Until 2012

Originally scheduled to release later this month amidst highly anticipated sequels like Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Konami's Silent Hill: Downpour wouldn't have very much room on store shelves. According to a report from MCVUK, Konami has wizened up and pulled the game from its slate of 2011 releases. Though the game is still without an official release date, the publisher has confirmed that Silent Hill: Downpour will be coming out sometime during Q2 of 2012.
Hopefully the delay is for a good reason like giving it a chance to survive at retail, and not a bad reason like the game is still not finished. With a few extra months, we're sure the developers at Vatra Games are going to be putting some extra work in making this sequel a return to that classic Silent Hill form. Unless of course, it's all just part of the vast end of the world conspiracy, and Konami is just doing their part to usher in an age of global catastrophe. Then it won't matter how good the game looks because we'll all be dead.
