Rumor: Mass Effect 3 content coming to Final Fantasy XIII-2

If the reports are true, Final Fantasy and Mass Effect fans may have something to be excited about. According to Siliconera, BioWare and Square Enix will be teaming to create some Mass Effect costume DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Though there aren’t any images of what Shepard’s armor will look like in the Final Fantasy universe, if the Ezio costume is any indication, Square will do a nice job bringing the vastly different RPG’s style and sensibilities into the world of Gran Pulse.
Whether or not this costume is just for men, or will also be wearable by the female members of the party, is unknown as well. With all the efforts both BioWare and Square put into creating strong female leads, we can’t imagine that it’s not at least a possibility. This latest rumor only builds on the trend of game developers paying homage and respect to one another’s properties by including some form of cross-promotional item as a bonus or DLC.
Though there’s no confirmation from either of the parties involved at this point, there’s no reason to think that it won’t be true. Both titles are important and fan-favorite RPGs, and branching out to one another’s fanbases can only help Mass Effect and Final Fantasy become even more successful franchises.
