Rumor: Dark Souls to get DLC this year

2011’s most brutal role-playing game is about to get even more downright dastardly. According to EGM, Dark Souls will be getting some downloadable content later this year. There’s no date in sight yet, but the report claims that the content is in the final stages of development now, and could see release by the end of the first quarter. Like many RPGs, the world of Dark Souls is ripe for new content, though the reveal comes as a bit of a surprise.
EGM believes there may be a link between a recently filed From Software trademark for “Yami no Mori,” which translates to “Forest of Darkness” or “Dark Forest.” This is just pure speculation, as From Software has yet to officially declare that there any such DLC exists. The new content would undoubtedly be welcomed by the game’s fan base, which has grown quite a bit since the game launched late last year. Post-launch content has become a big part of the industry in recent years, and even though Demon’s Souls (Dark Souls’ PS3-exclusive predecessor) received no such support, that doesn’t rule out the possibility entirely.
Now that the idea is out there, what kind of DLC would you like to see in Dark Souls?
