Rock Band Download Low-Down: Week 8
Each week we’ll run out onto our website stage like roadies and review the latest Rock Band Downloadable Content. Check back every Friday!
*NOTE: Each of the songs in this week’s selection costs 160 Microsoft Points ($2). They are only sold separately.

"Die! All Right!" by The Hives
WHAT ROCKS: Skilled drummers should have a blast here, as playing on Hard or Expert will yield a frantic experience right from the opening drum solo.
WHAT SUCKS: The "lyrics" the vocalist has to belt out are just plain weird...unless you have a blood alcohol content of at least .10. Guitars and bass are hardly bad, but you wouldn't want to go back to this song solo on either axe.
FINAL VERDICT: Not even close in awesomeness to the game's other Hives song, "Main Offender," that's included on the out-of-the-box disc. But it has its charms.

"Number of the Beast" as made famous by Iron Maiden
WHAT ROCKS: The challenge. Regardless of your instrument, this Maiden cover will kick you in the bathing-suit area if you aren't prepared. The guitar solo in particular is a (ahem) beast. And drummers best be quick with their feet. But when the whole band rocks this one, the sense of victory is only that much sweeter.
WHAT SUCKS: The cover vocalist a rather poor substitute for Bruce Dickinson. Also, if you're not a fan of rapid strumming on guitar, you're not likely to be too thrilled with this tune. And, of course, your band might not be too thrilled about the formidable challenge "Beast" presents.
FINAL VERDICT: It's intense...if your band is up for it.

"Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots
WHAT ROCKS: Step up to hard and you'll have one of the most rewarding drum songs in the entire game. Guitar and bass, though on the easier side, are fun note patterns to play, and vocals are do-able for just about anybody. Couple it all with the fact that this is arguably STP's biggest hit — i.e., odds are everybody in your band knows it — and you've got a more fun STP tune than "Vasoline", which is included on Rock Band's disc.
WHAT SUCKS: Not much really. The gap between Medium drums and Hard is rather large, and by that we mean it's a bit too simplistic (read: boring) on Medium.
FINAL VERDICT: One of the better overall downloadable tracks. Pick it up.

While this song is now in both games, the RB version is cover, while the GH one is not.
