Rock Band Download Low-Down: Week 17

"Beethoven's C***" by Serj Tankian
WHAT ROCKS: Crazy vocals (and by that we mean, "Break out your full range!"), very smooth bass, and interesting guitar and drums.
WHAT SUCKS: Bailing out your singer when she can't keep up with the Serj on the microphone (COUGHFranCOUGH :-)).
FINAL VERDICT: Just one dollar? Compared to the previous one-dollar downloads for Rock Band, this is awesome!
"Crushcrushcrush" by Paramore
WHAT ROCKS: It's simply...infectious. The drums are great -- not easy, but also not overly difficult or repetitive -- while guitar and bass also keep moving at all times.
WHAT SUCKS: The song may be catchy, but the vocals are pretty straightforward, as far as the lyrics and how they're sung.
FINAL VERDICT: Great band song, solid when you're playing solo. But you can't argue with the price.
"Shockwave" by Black Tide
WHAT ROCKS: The difficulty is seriously weighted on this one. The guitar is brutal -- ranked in the second-to-hardest tier -- but the other three parts are nowhere near as blistering. And all four parts are a blast. Drums in particular offer a varied note chart that's fun to keep up with. Just be sure to get your best guitar player on guitar. Have fun with that second guitar solo!
WHAT SUCKS: Bleeping (actually, muting) the F-word out of the chorus. It's not that we're dying to hear it, it's just that it's odd to hear the lyrics suddenly pause awkwardly in the middle of a line. And it will test your mettle on guitar, which will likely either delight you or infurate you.
FINAL VERDICT: Good times, one dollar. Win.

all good songs but i gotta disagree the other $1 dl's are better. well 30 seconds to mars is screw the rest

Shockwave is definitally the best song out of the three thats y i suggested it on rockband.com lol but the other 2 are solid, and if your a guitar player Shockwave is a challenge, i finally beat it on expert yesterday but came close to failing, the solos are intense all 3 are must buys

Shockwave is such a great song. Especially the opening guitar. As I like to call it, that crunch. But, I discovered this song as a free download on iTunes as part of its weekly freebies. Awesome, rock on guys.

I downloaded all of these and i highly recommend it.Ive been waiting for some Paramore for a while and i about shat myself when i saw that they put some on...good show

These are all really fun songs to play in the game. Its unfortunate that a lot of people don't want to give them a chance just because they aren't familiar with them.
