Rock Band Download Low-Down: Week 11
Each week we’ll run out onto our website stage like roadies and review the latest Rock Band Downloadable Content. Check back every week!
*NOTE: Each of the songs in this week’s selection costs 160 Microsoft Points ($2). They are only sold separately.

"Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial)" as made famous by Coheed & Cambria
WHAT ROCKS: You name it, and it's both catchy and a blast to play. Drums on medium and up are non-repetitive and fast, while bass borders on repetitive but manages to stay interesting, and guitar (on hard and expert, anyway) is a clear highlight, much like the game's other C&C track, "Welcome Home." It's fast and challenging without a mess of crazy Guitar Hero III-esque hammer-on/pull-off sequences to muddy up the good times. It's not in the same league as "Welcome Home," but it's damn fun.
WHAT SUCKS: Why is this a cover? "Welcome Home" is a master, so what's the deal here? The imitating vocalist isn't terrible, but it's certainly not up to par with the real band.
FINAL VERDICT: Guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of everyone in the band.

"Siva" by Smashing Pumpkins
WHAT ROCKS: If you love a challenge, this one will test your mettle. Each of our four band members had to be rescued at one point or another. Expert bass in particular is one of the tougher charts in the game, while drums also fall into the upper tiers of difficulty. But if you can't handle hard or expert skins, medium is plenty fun.
WHAT SUCKS: The timing change in the middle of the song will throw you off if you're not ready for it...so click the title of the song above and watch how the song goes.
FINAL VERDICT: Nobody in our faux foursome wanted to pick up our instruments again and master "Siva," but it's hardly a bad time at the 'ol Rock Band saloon.

"Working Man" as made famous by Rush
WHAT ROCKS: Multiple guitar solos, an incredible drum chart, an amazing riff that yields one of the most fun hammer-on sequences in the game for both bass and guitar, and that "epic" feel that puts this one in the same league as "Green Grass and High Tides." And just when you think it's over, there's one more awesome guitar sequence at the very end. This easily clowns "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight."
WHAT SUCKS: It's looong. If you lose concentration, it will break you! On a related note, the singer might get bored, as the solos themselves are also looong.
FINAL VERDICT: You may be bad at it, but it's the kind of bad you really enjoy and want to keep coming back to and better at. And when your band nails this -- and with practice, they will -- it is one of the most rewarding songs in the game. It's also Ryan's new favorite drum song.

This should have been a "Prog Pack", its a blast for competitive expert guitarists and drummers...you don't have to be a fan of these bands to enjoy them, they all deserved a "hell yes"...gt same as name...add me.

Huh, I found working mans solo easy... and I didn't even realize how long it is, guess I was just having too much fun. Regardless of difficulty, it's a great game, can't wait to have some friends over and get the full band experience.

"Siva" was probably the best track to be released in that week and deserves a HELL YES for download. "Ten Speed" was a good song but it's a cover. It sounds pretty lose to the original but I don't think anyone can vocally match Coheed and Cambria's singer. Good try. "Working Man" was a great song and is deserving of HELL YES! www.thelocclan.com
