Real-Time Strategy Six-Pack (#6): Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath

A standalone expansion to last year’s stellar Command & Conquer 3, Kane’s Wrath adds lots of new features: All three armies get a facelift with new units and abilities. Epic units have been introduced to turn the tide of battle almost as convincingly as the old superpowers did. The game’s been given added longevity with a “global conquest” mode; plan your strategy on the world map and fight out the battles in the normal real-time strategy mode.
And if you think you’ve mastered Nod, GDI, and the alien Scrin, Kane’s Wrath gives you six new sub-factions to deal with. Each one has unique units that emphasize particular strengths. No details yet on which sub-faction will be getting what, but EA promises that you’ll be able to find something in there to suit your play style. It’s redone the 360 controller interface, too, in an effort to make the game friendlier to console gamers.
If you appreciate Command & Conquer’s hammy acting, rest assured that the video interludes continue with Joe Kucan reprising his role as Kane. Other cast members and characters haven’t been announced yet, but given the expansion’s Rise of Nod theme, raving lunacy should be everywhere in the script.
