Where my HDMI at?

Sandman Logan 5 ASKS:

I have a 360 that did not ship with an HDMI port, so my question is, will there be an HDMI adapter for the early consoles? The official answer I got from Microsoft customer service is that I should go buy an Elite console (without offering any trade-up option). They wouldn't even confirm that current models on store shelves were shipping with HDMI ports, even when I brought up the new Arcade SKU!?! I want to get the HD-DVD add-on, but with this problem, what would be the point? It won't upscale my DVDs higher than 480p, I know it may sound snobbish, but Star Wars sure looks good at 1080p compared to 480p when I compared them on a friend's PS3.

OXM SAYS:

Weird that Microsoft wouldn't just give you a straight answer, so here's one: No. We're aware of no plans to offer an HDMI adapter for older 360s, and while we agree that'd be cool and even handy, it just doesn't seem like something Microsoft would do. We can, however, confirm that all new 360s do have an HDMI port, even non-Elite ones. If you're at the store and worried about buying an old one that's maybe been gathering dust on the shelves, just carefully read the box. The newer models that have an HDMI port say so, loud and proud. So yes, if 1080p HD-DVD movies are what you're after, the only way to get those is through an HDMI or VGA connection (not component), so if VGA isn't an option for you, it's HDMI or bust. After checking out the differences closely, we wouldn't upgrade our old 360s to new ones just for that feature, but that's of course a personal choice.

But unless one drank Petrus replica watches every day and had a familiarity with the wine, fake watches the fake would never have been detected. That’s not an fake rolex isolated story. Burgundian producer Laurent Ponsot replicaquestioned the authenticity of 22 lots of his Domaine Ponsot wines After all the fine wine market is worth a cool S$6.8bil (RM16bil).

“ Whilst most diners nodded replica watches in appreciation of the great wine, fake watches one of them protested its fake rolex authenticity. He was from the estate and declared that replica rolex the wine was not what was purported on the label. breitling It was a Petrus but from a lesser vintage (that of course cost less).

Typical of Microgreed to suggest buying an Elite model in order to get an HDMI port. Screw the early adopters who supported your investment and went through the lean early times when new games were scarce, and cater to the new buyers who waited for the better games to come out. My Sony DLP has more HDMI ports than component ports, so I'm screwed into upgrading my DVD player, satellite , or my 360. I'm out good money, no matter what if I want the best picture. Thanks for nothing Micros**k!

Thanks for giving me a straight and direct answer. I kind of expected that to be the case. The ridiculously priced Mad Catz HDMI adapter wont solve the problem either. No worries, connecting through component still produces a great image.

My older 360 will play HD-DVD movies in 1080i without the HDMI. It looks great but not as sharp or clear as my PS3 does through the HDMI connection on the same tv.
