NFL Blitz's "cover" athlete to be picked at the Spike VGA's

EA Sports has revealed its plans to honor one of three NFL superstars with its first ever "digital cover athlete," as the publisher will host a fan vote for the NFL Blitz cover star at the Spike VGAs. Lucky nominees Roddy White (Atlanta Falcons), Ray Rice (Baltimore Ravens), and Patrick Willis (San Francisco 49ers) will be in the running to grace the Xbox Live Arcade game's cover -- one that will never actually exist in any physical manifestation. (Unless EA pulls an NBA Jam again and makes this Live Arcade game an retail release.)
Voting for the Blitz cover star will start at the commencement of the Spike VGAs on Saturday, December 10 at 8PM eastern (5PM pacific) and conclude at the end of the show with a winner reveal by famed 49ers duo Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
In any case, the winner of this contest will join NBA Elite cover athlete Kevin Durant as the only men to be announced as cover athletes for a cover that never really covered anything at all. Unlike Durant, though, the Blitz cover star will be eventually sharing Xbox Dashboard real estate with slides advertising the likes of Call of Duty map packs and new episodes of SentUAMessage. Though retail games get to rub shoulders with Hulk Hogan's Main Event, so who's to say being a "digital cover athlete" doesn't have its perks afterall?
