New Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City characters have weird names
We've seen the playable choices among the Umbrella crew in previous announcements. We've even seen which of the series' heroes will be gracing our small screens with their luminous presence in past Capcom-released trailers, too. But the latest footage shows off the six remaining playable characters on the government-backed Spec Ops side.
The newly revealed "Echo Six" includes the following:
Dee-ay (Assault class) — the all-around more physical fighter with an unfortunately hyphenated name
Willow (Recon class) — can go invisible to stealth around and flank enemies
Harley (Medic class) — it's as if Left 4 Dead's cranky Francis got turned into team nurse. The irony.
Party Girl (Surveillance class) — you mean our fate lies in the hands of someone named "Party Girl"?
Shona (Field Scientist class) — excels at group and range attacks (also a dude, which isn't 100% apparent by name alone)
Tweed (Demolition class) — she's got an accent and blows stuff up
If you opt to play as a Spec Ops character, you'll be fending off Umbrella lackeys, as well as the ever-present zombie horde. Boss-type encounters with the series' trademark B.O.W.'s (bio-organic weapons) like Tyrants and Lickers also keep the party going. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City releases on March 20.
