Microsoft showcases media streaming and Kinect at CES

Microsoft celebrated its storied CES history during this evening’s keynote, while showcasing new content for Windows 8 and Windows Phones. When it came to the Xbox, however, there were only a few scant revelations for console fans to take in, and even those were focused on the Xbox’s media capabilities.
For those without a Kinect, the only revelation of note was the announcement of a 2012-due FOX app, which includes many Fox properties like the Fox Channel, Fox News Channel, and IGN to the Xbox’s already-robust streaming suite. The previously-announced Sesame Street app was also showcased, displaying the level of activity (and inactivity, as it seems the app can continue progress of a program if the user chooses not to engage with the likes of Grover, Cookie Monster, and Elmo).
Outside of the Xbox itself, the Kinect will be coming to personal computers in a matter of weeks. Kinect for Windows is due on February 1, and Microsoft revealed some of the 200 launch partners, including Mattel and Citibank.

I could care less for fox news, but the Fox Channel itself could that mean free tv episodes?
