A new suite of Marvel Comics-themed gear for Avatars is now available on the Xbox Marketplace. The collection of items for sale include character-themed t-shirts and a host of character-specific props including Spider-Man's web-shooters, “Hulk Hands” based off the famous toy, and Captain America's shield. The character shirts cost 80 MS Points, while the character props cost 240 MS Points. The Marvel avatar range does not include full character costumes, so no dressing your avatar up like Spider-Man.
Props do unlock special avatar animations based on iconic character poses, though. So an avatar wearing Spidey's web-shooters can strike an acrobatic web-slinging pose, avatars with Cap's shield can do the “Avengers Assemble” pose, and avatars with Hulk hands can make it clear that you wouldn't like them when they're angry. Right now the Marvel character range represented by the avatar items includes only Spider-Man, Captain America, and The Hulk, but it seems inevitable that items for other popular characters like Wolverine and Iron Man. The potential avatar gun ban might spell bad news for Punisher fans, though.
