Marcus Fenix & Master Chief could've been in Street Fighter X Tekken

Console specific characters for multi-platform games has almost become the norm, which made it quite curious that the Xbox 360 version of Street Fighter X Tekken was absent any Microsoft owned fighters. That wasn’t always the case though. While Capcom was able to work out three additional characters coming to the Sony versions (including Infamous' Cole McGrath), a similar deal fell through with Microsoft. In an interview with X360A producer Yoshinori Ono related that Capcom was close to getting some nice exclusive characters on the Xbox 360 version of the game, but those talks hit a snag. “Basically for the Xbox 360, we were in discussions with them (Microsoft) for which character to put in as an exclusive, but we weren't able to decide on a character because of differences in timing and things like that," Ono said.
To make matters worse, Capcom was working on getting some big guns added to the roster. "In terms of characters we wish we could have put in the game, Master Chief or Marcus Fenix from Gears of War would have been really cool, but it was just really difficult," Ono added. Having characters like Marcus and John-117 in Street Fighter X Tekken would have given the roster some incredibly different fighters than would typically be found in those games, and could have been awesome. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be.

I recall not too long ago, Ed Boon was trying to elaborate on why the 360 version of Mortal Kombat had no exclusive characters. He basically said that he was not allowed to go into details but that the team had already discussed which characters would be used only they were prevented by the forces that be! Honestly the statment from the producer sounds just like Ed Boons only much more polite and discreet. I guess Microsoft doesn't appreciate their characters getting maimed and beaten, that or Sony is money-hatting?

I doubt it microsoft has a hard time getting partners for anything i would bet that it was microsofts fault, and besides why not do the arbiter which would be perfectly fine for it, or a zealot from reach/ anniversary
