Lost: Via Domus
Nobody on the hit TV show Lost knows where they are; in Via Domus, you don’t even know who you are. You play as a previously unknown, amnesiac survivor of Oceanic 815; as your memory returns, you might not like what you remember — a nice nod to Lost’s own “Who are the good guys anyway?” ambiguity. The plot spans the first few seasons of the show, so you’ll visit the infamous Swan “hatch,” the beached Black Rock, and several other landmarks, snapping digital photos as you go. Exploring island hotspots is an undeniable fan thrill.

But it’s not the mythology that brings Via Domus down — it’s the boring and uninspired gameplay, which consists of a bevy of puzzles using fuse panels, a few rudimentary action sequences, and some weak games of hide-and-seek. The actor “soundalikes” don’t, the economy system stinks (you’ll trade coconuts and Apollo bars for gear you’ll rarely use), and we suffered an inexcusable bug that forced us to replay segments. Depending on your willingness to believe in Lost magic, the game’s ending is either an epic cop-out or a deep insight into exactly what the hell is going on. Fans, rent it — it’ll take you only five hours or so to decide for yourself.

On Xbox 360
+ OMG, you’re in the hatch!
- Puzzles and action sequences feel tedious, while voice-overs don’t even make you feel.
- Can’t save anywhere...and what’s with that killer bug?
? Why is it just $30 for the same game on PC?

I bought this game because I love the show, however, this game is horrible! The only good thing about it is the environment and the way it is laid out like an episode of LOST. The puzzles are lame, the voice actors are generic, the action is slow, and it is just plain boring. The story seems kind of interesting but the gameplay makes it next to impossible to maintain interest. Don't buy this game.

This game was a definite hommage to LOST fans. I bought the game on the release date and I have to say I was expecting more. Most movie/show games never meet expectation as you have such a predetermined thought towards the ideal that it is hard to measure up. With that said I still bought and played the game. Overall if you are not a fan of the show stay clear. And if you are a fan of the show then it is worth a weekend rental. Pros: It's LOST!!!! Interacting with the LOST Universe Level backgrounds are very well done (Especially the nursery in the Medical Station) The game stays very true to the LOST mythology The Smoke Monster Easy Achievements Mini-games Cons: Really light adventure game Lackluster Conversation engine Inventory system subpar No more lighters or torches - seriously Checkpoint reloads force you to resort your inventory Actual action segments are very lackluster Extremely Short - 7 hours to get through the game --- http://theblackfin.com --- Gamertag: TheBlackFin

Its amazing to me how everyone keeps taking great entertainment, doing something different with it, and screwing it up.
