I Am Alive on XBLA this winter
Way back in 2008, rumors swirled about a new action-adventure game called I Am Alive in the works at Ubisoft set in current-day Chicago in the wake of a devastating earthquake. The project was speculated to be attached to all sort of high-profile folks, including then-Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond. Even after screens, concept art, and short trailers were released during an official announcement, the game still remained relatively fuzzy on when it was coming out and exactly how it would play.
Fast forward to 2011, and the game had seemingly gone MIA with no new info beyond a storied development past that juggled from the game's original developer, Darkworks, to Ubisoft's Shanghai studio. Was it still happening? Today, Ubisoft finally released the first new trailer (in the UK) of a significantly retooled I Am Alive, as reported by IGN.com and other sources.

Primed for an XBLA launch this Winter (the game will also appear on PSN), the game no longer takes place in Chicago, but still features your character struggling to survive an apocalyptic disaster simply referred to the "Event." You're now charged with finding your wife and daughter (in the early versions of the game back in 2008-09, you were trying to find your girlfriend in the earthquake's aftermath) and will have to manage resources like your own stamina, while searching for supplies.
The potential for making tough choices in a bleak environment? High. The chances of scaling skyscrapers and kicking fools off buildings? Guaranteed. Consider our interest piqued. Again.

Wow. I was wondering what happened to this one. I remember watching a trailer for it on the demo disk years ago!

I'm looking forward to this one, too. I was a fan of the Disaster Report series, which had a similar premise but was ultimately hamstrung by the PS2 being unable to properly handle crazy environmental shifts like earthquakes and floods.

I've been wondering what happened to this title since I read about it a while ago. The premise sounds interesting and compelling. I thought it was supposed to be a full release on disc, but XBLAh suits me just fine. I'll definitely be picking this up!
