Halo getting a fan-made film series
Ever wondered what it’d be like if the Halo universe’s Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs, or Helljumpers) existed in real life? The small, independent production team Method Pictures — headed up by director Dan Wang — is about to show us what that scenario would be like with an unofficial short film series called Helljumper.
This past weekend the team released a teaser clip of the movie they’ve been working on after assembling a production crew and cast by posting flyers in and around New York City earlier this year. According to the company’s Facebook page, Helljumper will chronicle the tour of duty of one ODST — from enlistment to the events around the Fall of Reach within the Halo timeline. If the quick clip above doesn’t pique your inner Halo fan interest in seeing where the series will take us, then possibly nothing will. The short series is slated to kick off in January 2012.
To keep up on the progress of the team at Method Pictures, check out production stills/movie posters, or to learn more about Helljumper, the crew has a Facebook page set up, as well as a website/blog.
