Gears of War 3 second title update is live today

Early this morning, or late last night depending on the hours you keep, Gears of War 3 got its second title update. There’s a heaping handful of improvements and additions being made, which includes a new spectator mode. Now two people can sit and watch any 4v4 match. It’s an interesting change, and should make scouting opponents easier for competitive gaming clans. The move is especially pertinent for those of us who spend more time watching the match on the respawn screen than we actually do in the match. Horde host migration is also getting a fix to keep you on the same wave, and you’ll also be able to earn the Combat Engineer ribbon on every wave instead of just once a game.
Most importantly though, the new update will fix some exploits, including the super-annoying beam climbing on Dry Dock. While it wasn’t nearly as nerve-grating as the people hiding out down the tracks on Tyro Station in the first Gears, the glitch certainly made for some frustrating matches. You can check out a full list of all the fixes and improvements in the update on the Epic forums. We look forward to watching and commentating on matches our friends are in, and can’t wait to get back into the Gears 3 multiplayer with this update’s other additions.
