Gears of War 3 is most-pirated Xbox game of 2011

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for...Marcus Fenix, it seems. Gears of War 3, the Xbox 360's best-selling platform exclusive for 2011, would've sold even more had it not been the most pirated Xbox 360 game of 2011, according to TorrentFreak.com.
Almost one million copies of Epic Games' chainsaw-bayonetted trilogy-ender -- 890,000, to be precise -- were illicitly downloaded on Torrent sites after (and in some cases, before) its September 20 release. Also popular among ne'er-do-wells was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (830,000 Torrent downloads), Battlefield 3 (760,000), Forza Motorsport 4 (720,000), and Kinect Sports: Season Two (690,000).
Remember kids, crime doesn't pay. All of these folks are subject to being banned from Xbox Live if they logon with their stolen copies.

That source article is definitely worth a read, if even just to see the absolutely staggering number of illegal downloads for each of the top 5 PC games. Piracy on all platforms is depressing (and a sure way to hurt our hobby), but those PC-pirating numbers are particularly dire.

Wow, Kinect Sports Season 2 at #5 is a bit unexpected. If I had to make a Venn diagram of people who own Kinects and people who pirate games, I wouldn't have made much of an overlap between the two.
