It looks like Gearbox Studios' Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, the Inglorious Basterds-inspired take on Gearbox's long-running WWII FPS franchise, is going to be MIA at this year's E3, with few assurances of continued development. While Gearbox will attend E3 this year, the developer is primarily talking up Borderlands 2 and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
With Ridley Scott’s film Prometheus — rumored to be an Alien prequel — out this June, interest in the razor-tailed baddies is running high. Not that it ever left: this universe fires our nerd thrusters almost as much now as it did 20 years ago...
…and it also hints that the upcoming sequel will have 96.5% more "wub wub." What else? Guns, new skill trees, meeting the new four characters you'll be able to play as, and Borderlands 2 even has a confirmed release date — September 18 — along with pre-order details. All that's missing is Claptrap…oh, wait, there he is!
Aliens: Colonial Marines may have just suffered a heartbreaking delay into the fall season, but Gearbox is breaking the news as nicely as they can, front-loading the new release window reveal with a very pretty and atmospheric trailer. Read on for more info.
We politely interrupted Borderlands 2 producer Matt Charles during his efforts to verify unique weapon combination number 4,327,491 in Gearbox's role-playing shooter sequel and asked him a couple questions about the game's progress.

We hoped this DLC might redeem Duke Forever somehow — show us a new side of the tank-topped hero, or hint at potential the full game never realized. We probably shouldn't have hoped.
