Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be one disc

Last week, EA delivered news of Battlefield 3's surpirising multi-disc functionality. In order to bring balance to the world, Square Enix has revealed that the follow-up to the three-disc Final Fantasy XIII will be able to fit on a single DVD.
Andriasang has translated a recent interview Famitsu magazine conducted with Final Fantasy XIII-2 director Motomu Toriyama, in which he revealed that the cinematics will be done in real-time within the game's engine, rather than the disc-space-sapping prerendered cutscenes prominent in Final Fantasy XIII.
You'll be able to enjoy Square Enix's next RPG on a single disc on January 31, 2012. Did Final Fantasy XIII's disc count factor into your platform choice?
