Fable creators and Big Blue Box founders Dene and Simon Carter have founded their own development studio, Another Place Productions. The studio plans to focus on digital download games for XBLA, Steam, PSN, and mobile platforms. At Another Place Productions, the Carters are joined by former Fable art director John McCormick, former Lionhead technical director Guillaume Portes, and executive Producer Jeremie Texier.
The Carters sold Big Blue Box to Lionhead in 2004, where they continued to work on games in the Fable franchise. The couple departed from Lionhead in the summer of last year. In total, games in the Fable series have sold over 12 million copies across the PC and Xbox systems. The first entry in the Fable series was a forward-looking game that focused on letting player actions make significant changes to the state of the in-game world and the main character.
