Though previous plans for an Avengers video game from THQ were scuttled, it appears all is not lost for Earth’s mightiest heroes. Ubisoft and Marvel have registered the domain AvengersBattleforEarth.com according to WhoIs. There’s nothing on the site as of yet, but typing the URL into your browser does open up a “Page Not Found” redirect to Ubi.com.
After setting new box office records this weekend, there’s seemingly no better time to release a game based on some of the most powerful and recognizable heroes in the Marvel universe. Of course, since there’s been absolutely no indication from either Marvel or Ubisoft that an Avengers video game has been in the works, it’ll likely be a while until Battle for Earth sees the light of day. That said, E3 is just a little over a month away, so maybe Ubisoft will have something to show off in June.
