DICE says Mirror’s Edge 2 still possible

EA's 2008 release Mirror's Edge may not have been a sales juggernaut, but the first-person parkour title did become a cult phenomenon over the past few years. Despite this popularity, a sequel to the game seemed unlikely thanks to the lack of sales. However, all hope is not lost just yet. Mirror's Edge developers DICE know just how popular the IP has become, and don't want to rule out a potential follow-up just yet.
In a recent interview with SPOnG, DICE producer Patrick Liu was very optimistic about the chances of a Mirror's Edge 2.
"We see that there's a huge fan following, it's almost like a cult!"Liu said. "And we know what strengths we had, and what weaknesses we had in that game. If we were to release a new game, we'd know what to improve and how to reach a broader audience. So I definitely think there's a market there."
It may not be the outright confirmation of a Mirror's Edge sequel that the game's devoted fans have been waiting for, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. EA has even said in the past that Mirror's Edge is a property they are still interested in, and that it's just a matter of having the right idea before they move forward. All we know is that we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for an announcement of Mirror's Edge 2. What about you?
