BioShock Infinite will not have multiplayer

For months, it has been speculated BioShock Infinite's beleaguered development was in large part due to the difficulties brought on by trying to incorportate a multiplayer component into the sequel. Though Irrational had never confirmed the existence of a multiplayer mode in Infinite, it appears it won't matter any more as it's now official that BioShock Infinite will ship without multiplayer.
The update comes from Ken Levine himself, who revealed the lack of multiplayer via his Twitter. In response to a fan asking if BioShock Infinite would have multiplayer, Levine simply stated, "No multi." Of course, Levine's statement only revealed that when BioShock Infinite arrived at retail, it would have no multiplayer. There was no indication as to whether or not multiplayer was originally in the plans, and was scrapped during the multiple departures seen during the sequel's development.
Irrational has been very keen to keep BioShock Infinite under wraps, having only teased the world with a second full-length trailer late last month. The sequel's Feb. 26 release date is closing fast, and it will be interesting to see just how much more Irrational divulges about Inifinte in the coming months.
What do you think of the news? Are you disappointed or delighted to hear BioShock Infinite will not have multiplayer?
