Bethesda’s continued support of Skyrim is great for those of us still playing the game. With Update 1.5, not only is there a solid amount of new bug fixes and quests patched up, but the new patch also includes new kill cams and animations. While it’s great to see that “Blood on the Ice” is getting closer to not being a buggy mess anymore, the new animations shown off in the trailer are clearly the star of the show.
In addition to a bunch of new close-range weapon finishers, there are also some sweet melee maneuvers. You can give someone a German suplex. On that aspect alone, Skyrim should be re-entered into the discussion for 2012 game of the year.
The new kill cams look sweet as well. Getting to see ranged finishes like you could in Fallout 3 and New Vegas is a solid addition, and one that was sorely missing from the game at launch. The patch is available now on Steam, but will be available for Xbox players shortly. In the meantime, you can check out a full list of all the improvements over on the Bethblog.
