Battlefield 3 review

I played Call of Duty 2 thru MW2 then decided to honorably discharge myself. I fear FPS campaign days are over and replaced with online versus multiplayer. I worry these games will go the way of Guitar hero and Activision, flooding the market with too many FPS multiplayers that they will become stale. Remember the Campaign, developers. Until you do, I will not purchase your product!

As for the review, I think you did a solid job Mr Lewis. The score surprised me, but the meat of the article was well done. Get it? Meat? Well done? Hey-O!

Admittedly I am way over the military based FPS.  CODblops campaign was horrible and it is disappointing that BF3 elected to copy it. More disappointing is the way reviewers just give the military FPS a pass when it comes to these too short, absolutely ridiculous, single player campaigns.  A 9 completely ignores the single player portion of this review.  Consider dividing your scores between campaign and MP.

Please don't give me the read the review response. I do and did in this case.  In the details the reviewer did highlight the typical shortcomings but you hide it with the 9. For these FPSs that try to squeeze in a campaign I would love to see two review scores one for campaign and one for MP.  Please see gameradar's Halo Reach review for the best example. By the way I am here because I enjoy oxm. I just don't agree with the way most reviewers score these types of games.
