Battlefield 3’s Close Quarters DLC is close enough for our comfort
It’s only been a week since DICE announced their plans for three new DLC packs for Battlefield 3, but today they’ve released a new trailer and screens to showcase the first of these new add-ons, ‘Close Quarters.’ Coming with four new maps, the focus of ‘Close Quarters’ is what DICE is touting as “HD destruction,” which “lets players riddle the environment with bullets, reducing entire locales to ruin. Everything from furniture to plaster can be shot to pieces, and players can see the result of the mayhem as rubble and broken pieces pile up on the floor.”
‘Close Quarters’ will also come with new weapons, which once unlocked can be used in the standard online game. Ziba Tower, a ritzy apartment complex, is the sole focus of the trailer, but there’s no indication whether that is location of all four maps, or whether this is just one of the four new locales players will be able to tear apart this summer. The DLC is due in June, though EA has yet to announce a price for any of the expansion packs.
