Still, in the latter half of the game, all the dino-slaughtering does get pretty old. By then, you’ll have learned that there’s literally no reason to fight dinos with guns — the knife is so crazy-powerful in these moments that it becomes an insta-kill button, and that drains so much of the tension from the countless dino fights that they become chores.
The gunfights are more adeptly balanced. As in the Call of Duty series, you fight alongside an ever-changing cast of characters, but you never have to give them orders or otherwise manage their business. They’re just there for extra firepower and the occasional manly snarl, and the steady stream of new faces definitely keeps things fresh.
The A.I. of the enemy troops comes close to the gloriously brainy foes of F.E.A.R. (and they even look and sound more than a little like those guys), taking cover and changing up strategies so that skirmishes play out differently when you redo sequences. You’ll get caught up in some harrowing battles — our favorite was an assault on a troop convoy that goes wrong when your commander panics and prematurely fires his rocket launcher. You end up outnumbered and surrounded on all sides, and survival requires a fun mixture of cunning and good ol’ pluckiness.
But here, too, as the game progresses, you’ll notice that too many of Turok’s bad guys seem to think that smart tactics consist of running at you in a straight line…past the heaps of corpses that used to be their friends. So while the game’s A.I. is anything but bad, it’s also not great enough to make the magic last the whole game long. You’ll eventually wise up to enough patterns and routines that, again, they start to feel old.

haha nice, now this is a game I will have to get. Wasn't there an original Turok? I know there was some game with bashing dinosaurs like this one.

I say the bow is the best weapon, going around the multiplayer map hitting unsuspecting enemies, where one shot, is one kill, oh gosh it is AMAZING!

I think the new turok rocks. it's simple but intense which is good enough for me. But I can understand why a lot of people don't like it. At least its better than the piece of crap turok on the original xbox.

I cannot believe that they would remake such a great game, and do such a HORRIBLE job. This is one of the worst games I have played in a long time. Lacks SOO much content. Could have done so much more with this game, or at least could have made it for regular Xbox. I rate this game a .05/10. Horrible

Looking forward to checking out the multiplayer. I was looking forward to this game and even though I have 4 other FPSs cluttering up my playing time, I'll still give it a shot.
