Big news for Gears of War 2 fans coming from GameSpot: both new multiplayer content and a new experience-based ranking system to supplement the old (and seemingly, somewhat unpopular and misunderstood) TrueSkill ranking system. The new multiplayer map pack will be called Snowblind, and will include four new maps: Grindyard, Under Hill, Courtyard, and a fully remade Fuel Depot that originally appeared in the first Gears. Along with the new experience system, there will be new Achievements for reaching levels 5, 15, 25, 50, and 100, as well as four others that haven't been named yet.

VERDICT: Well, can't blame 'em for not trying.
Can't We All Just Get Along and Kill Some Zombies?
According to Joystiq, Capcom has confirmed that they will be bringing a "Versus" pack to their newly released Resident Evil 5. The pack, available "a few weeks" after the release of the game for 400 Microsoft Points, will include two different game modes: the point-based "Slayer's Rule" and their take on last-man-standing "Survivor's Rule." Each game mode supports up to four players, with 1v1 and 2v2 modes.

VERDICT: I wonder how fun multiplayer will be if you can't move while shooting. Maybe they'll let me pay a couple extra bucks to strafe...
Please, Sir, May We Have Some More?
The Fable II development team has announced more DLC on their blog. While they haven't given us any actual information about what the new content will entail, they did say that the new content is being worked on, and that there will be new information in the upcoming weeks.
VERDICT: We do love us some extra doggy fun.
But Seriously, We'd Like Some More
Bethesda has finally dropped the air of mystery around its new DLC entitled The Pitt, and let Joystiq know the official release date: March 24. The content will be available for a measly 800 Microsoft Points, but will require the most recent patch to be playable. You can check out new screens of the DLC right here.

VERDICT: Man, how are we supposed to keep up with all this DLC?
'Busting is Serious Business
Kombo has gotten their hands on some juicy info about the multiplayer in the upcoming Ghostbusters game. As expected, the game will include a co-op mode, but with a twist. Rather than simply a co-operative experience, players will be competing for the highest paycheck (which they can use to upgrade their weapons and other gear) while working together to finish the job. Interstingly, however, the press release has no information on whether or not the co-op mode will be online, but we anticipate that it will.

VERDICT: You have no idea how hard it is to resist making some Ghostbusters reference here.

No. By "requiring the most recent patch," Taylor means you'll need the latest autoupdate patch that fixed Fallout 3 itself. He's not referring to prior DLC. If you gots Live, it'll all happen automatically.

I really wasn't too excited for the first GOW 2 update. I mean, the maps were okay and cheevs were ok. I got into them a little bit. But for some reason I am PUMPED for this one. The cheevs are sweet and the maps seem to be awesome. Fuel Depot was my favorite map besides Gridlock and I'm happy they are redooing it. I am only like 5 hours into Fallout 3, so I have a lot more to do before I even get into the FIRST DLC. But none the less, GOW 2 gots my eye!
