This Week In Xbox — 2/27
WORDS BY: Taylor Cocke
Found It!
Screenshots and more info on Lost Planet 2 have surfaced after the release of the trailer on Xbox Live. According to Capcom's announcement, the game will be taking place ten years after the events of the first game. In the intervening years, some terraforming effects have begun taking place, revealing new jungle areas. Along with a brand new four-player co-op mode, Capcom has made several improvements to the gameplay based on community feedback on the original.

VERDICT: Four-player co-op! They really did listen!
This Is Riddickulous!
Atari has announced release dates for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena: April 7 in North America and April 24 in Europe, with demos available sometime in March. The disc will include both the new game as well as a new "enhanced" version of Escape From Butcher Bay.

VERDICT: That's awesome that Atari is releasing the first game as well. Hopefully it won't shame the new one.
Busted!
After being caught, well, red handed last week, Joystiq has broken the news that the new red Xbox 360 Elite will, in fact, be bundled with Resident Evil 5, as well as Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix pre-loaded on the system. An official price point hasn't been announced yet (rumors say $400), but you can check out Major Nelson's blog for more information and a video!

VERDICT: So my info may have been a little off last week...sue me! Wait, don't! Please?
Fixin' What's Broke
Kotaku tells us that the title update for Left 4 Dead has finally hit 360 after being out for a month on Steam. The bug fix patches up several issues, including map exploits, getting rid of several bugs prevalent in versus mode, and a few changes to the different Infected.
VERDICT: Why must you people always try to find exploits? I'm as glad as the next guy that they fixed them, but come on.
The Lost And Well-Selling
Make that the best-selling. According to Team Xbox, the new Grand Theft Auto IV episode The Lost and Damned has overtaken the first-day revenue gains of every other piece of downloadable content on Xbox Live. The content was released on February 17th and costs 1600 Microsoft Points.

VERDICT: Not to take away from how great the content is, but no wonder it made so much money. Look at how much it costs!
Quakin' In Our Boots
Although it was announced over a year and a half ago, Quake III looks like it will finally be making its way over to Xbox Live Arcade. Joystiq tells us that John Carmack of id Software has claimed that Pi Studios is "actually very close to finishing that up." He also hinted that we can expect a slew of new content, as well as a few gameplay changes to make it work better on the console.

VERDICT: Awwww yeah. Arm your rockets, kids.

I'm not overally impressed that The Lost and Damned broke the record, considering it costs $20 and most DLC is around $10
