The Scoreboard #8
WORDS BY: Mitch Dyer

If you want in on the hot Reader Review action – it earned Mr. Tucker his own Achievement: a killer prize from the OXM prize pile! – feel free to hop on the point loving, Achievement whorin’ bandwagon of The Scoreboard! Lost: Via Domus

Previously on Lost: Plane crashes, people survive and a bunch of weird stuff happens. You assume the role of Elliot Mazlow, otherwise known as “Some Guy” in this easy Gamerscore boosting adventure game. To get these Achievements, be prepared to set aside a few hours and just play the game. Most of the Achievements come from taking photographs to jog your memory, which also completes levels.
Best Achievement: The Way Home (200 pts.) Finish the game Finish video game, get 200 Gamerscore. Simple and rad. To bag this kickass Achievement it will take you about 4 hours... if you YouTube how to complete the tedious fuse puzzles *Shivers* It saves a lot of time for you Gamerscore junkies.
Worst Achievement: Via Domus (50 pts.) Complete Episode 3 Good luck with this achievement, lololololooloolol. Seriously though, are you a decent photographer? Well me either, because Locke is damn near unphotographable for this portion. It'll take you anywhere between five seconds and 45 minutes to unlock this Achievement. Afterwards, have fun finding your way through the cave, avoiding bottomless pits and torch snuffing bats.
Easiest Achievement: Save the Castaways (15 pts.) Prevent the fuel leak from igniting Play the game for two minutes and “bloop”, you have 15 more points! Seriously, this Achievement unlocks after completing an easy fuse puzzle right at the beginning. Doing so stops the fuel leak from igniting and killing most of the cast(aways) of Lost.
Hardest Achievement: Boom Boom (10 pts.) Open the secret door Remember the Black Smoke? It's not fire, it's something much more lame than that. I'm not actually sure what it is but I do know its sole purpose of existence is to pwn yo ass. You'll need to travel through the dark territory to the Black Rock (a slave ship that’s in the middle of the mystical fairy jungle island) to get some boom sticks. After you avoid the random guy in the tree shooting at you, you have to back track through the dark territory and deal with the Smoke again, but you can't run or you will explode from jiggling the dynamite in your pack. So if you can make it back to the secret door you'll be rewarded with a staggering 10 points.
Time Investment vs. Payoff – 9 (out of 10) If you can over look and put up with some gameplay flaws you can have an easy 1000 gamerscore in around five hours, not factoring in the time figuring out the damned fuse puzzles.
Overall Score – 9 (out of 10) Lost: Via Domus is great for Achievements and is a decent adventure game. This is filled with very obtainable Gamerscore, some intense scenes, and it’s easier to enjoy the game while earning Achievements. But you may have to replay some levels to nab a missed Achievement or two.

What a week! Well, readers, we had some laughs but it’s time for us to go our separate ways. We’ve all got Achievements to unlock, and if the rest of April’s releases (all two of them) are anything like this week, we’ll need to sacrifice sleep in order to boost our Gamerscore. Don’t forget to email your own Scoreboard review to us so you can win some free stuff! Check out this week’s games if you’re interested, but be prepared to lose your life to them if you want points! Bring a friend.
Until next time, where we’ll take a look at Bully and Army of Two, just keep playin’.

Getting most of Assassins' Creed's Achievements just takes time, as it is with most games out there. They're spread out nicely, but when you need a quick boost, you're better off to look somewhere else than a 15 hour epic, or something.

I think most games frome EA games have easy achievements. Assassin's Creed and Skate are a couple.

That Army of Two is a good gamerscore boost ia finally proven. I'm on day 4 with the game, and I have 705/1000 gamerscore in it. Fast stuff indeed.

Ya Mitch, I didn't even know what the achievement was talking about until I accidently found one. The game was alright but the whole sneaking around crap I couldn't stand it just for the one reason you mentioned and that's being spotted by one guy, then being attacked by the whole camp because of that.

I agree with you there, Daze. If I had even known that's where they were, I'd have left 'em alone. I was struggling to avoid the hundreds of enemies that immediately swarm you when you get seen. It doesn't help that you can't attack groups, either.
My biggest issue with it was that it was never mentioned, ever. How am I to know that there are skulls to collect?

The skulls for the skulbagger achievements can only be found when you sneak into the main bases. Once you do a full assault on the base you can no longer find them. I had a hard enough time sneaking through the bases just to get what I needed. I didn't even bother trying to find them all.

I hope that Army of Two gets a good review. I'm getting a nice achievement boost REALLY quickly. I'm at 330/1000 on my second day with the game. And by tomorrow,I should be around 500. The only real bugger about that,is the 'Retirement Savings Plan'. Get 1 billion dollars in multiplayer? Pretty dumb and time-consuming. *Sends message to a friend* Yo,want to boost?
Everything else can be done in about a week, though. (I might be done with this faster than I finished Condemned 2's 1000/1000!)
