"Why don't I like Fallout 3? I just am not getting into it. I'm about 4 hours in and I'm supposed to be looking for a radio station. I am taking my time, doing some exploring and really trying to enjoy it. While I'm playing though, all I can think about is wanting to play something else."

Rock Band Download Low-Down: Week 47

WORDS BY: OXM Staff

Each week we’ll run out onto our website stage like roadies and review the latest Rock Band Downloadable Content. Check back every week! (And click here for all of our previous music DLC reviews. And yes, we're all caught up now, so if you've been looking for the last few weeks' reviews, they're up now!)

*NOTE: Each of the songs in this week’s selection costs 160 Microsoft Points ($2). The Offspring songs are also available as a pack for 440 points ($5.50).

The Offspring Pack 01

WHAT ROCKS: These are three of most well-known Offspring songs, so odds are everyone will know them. You can't help but love "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" on vocals, especially with the crowd singing along on this one (a trend started with The Who Pack and one we'd love to see a lot more often!). Bass is the highlight on "Self Esteem." We also appreciate that none of these is brutally difficult, as "Hammerhead" was on drums.

WHAT SUCKS: The guitarist has long stretches with nothing to play on "Self Esteem." Meanwhile, guitar on "Gone Away" is simply boring.

FINAL VERDICT: An excellent pack for vocalists, and a solid but not spectacular one for the rest of your bandmates.

"Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood

COMMENTS:

ill bet you that xpect the xpectd is having a field day with todays motely crue dlc.

I have a suggestion to make "Bad to the Bone" more fun. Play guitar/vocals simultaneously. It's insanely fun.

Good to see you guys stopped slacking, especially since there will be more DLC out in the next few months than ever...

very good oxm, im proud that you put up reviews for the other weeks albums, my faith will be totally renewed when you put up ACTUAL REVIEWS for this weeks and the last few weeks single songs dlc.

on a scale of 1 to 10 this pushing the scale closer and closer to negative numbers along with the scene pack and the week with the 30 seconds to mars songs. give us more system of a down harmonix!!!! we want to play aerials and f*** the system!!

Alright, my comment on the Rush review can be ignored, I just saw the next DLC album for RB. DR. FEELGOOD!!! HELL YES!! I'm so glad I just got more MS points.

Oh, and after a play of Bad to the Bone on guitar, I agree with the Boo. It was very easy and boring, which shouldn't be happening on expert. I stand by my statement, I only want to sing Bad to the Bone.

I'll take some Alter Bridge, but I'm still waiting on some Bullet for my Valentine, maybe Hearts Burst into Fire? I only bought Bad to the Bone, simply because it is funny to sing it. But you know, they might take a break from big hitters after all the albums. Expect another week of this at least.

Probably not the most popular choice...(let the flaming begin)...but I want some Alter Bridge. How about the entire Blackbird album. All of their songs are nothing but serious guitar play. And Mark Tremonti is an F'ing genius!

I think I just had a heart attack seeing "Push it" -- I mistook it for the tool song "Pushit" and about flipped my effin' lid.

Dang.

yeah slayer world be soo great
hopefully there will be some soon

Hate to say it, DeathMetalMike, 'cause I love the song itself (and other Thorogood tunes, like "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer")----but I totally agree with our reviewer that "Bad to the Bone" is a "Boo!!!" For us, the track may be awesome to listen to, but it just wasn't fun to play---it's too slow and repetitive (especially on bass). Hopefully, if you bought it yourself, you enjoyed it more than we did.

Where exactly is the Muse pack? WE'RE WAITING HARMONIX. You're almost ASKING me to buy GHWT. Especially with Assassin on there.... Seriously I love Rock Band but if I don't get mah Muse pack soon, it's hello to guitar hero.....

OMG YOU DID NOT JUST GIVE "BAD TO THE BONE" a "BOO!!!" :O

I really enjoyed "push-It" and my redneck neighbor get going to "bad to the bone" so I think what makes a good dlc really depends on one's taste... so can we finally get some F'N SLAYER already!!!!
