Rock Band Download Low-Down: Week 33

WORDS BY: OXM Staff

Each week we’ll run out onto our website stage like roadies and review the latest Rock Band Downloadable Content. Check back every week! (And click here for all of our previous music DLC reviews.)

*NOTE: Each of the songs in the Crue Fest Pack costs 80 Microsoft Points ($1) or 240 Microsoft Points ($3) for the pack. "Promised Land" by Vesuvius is not reviewed because it's free. Just go download it!

Crue Fest Pack

WHAT ROCKS: Though not as catchy or as strong on any instrument as the title track from Motley Crue's Saints of Los Angeles (which was released in Rock Band several weeks ago), "Down at the Whisky" is another tune off the same album that's fast-paced, and particularly awesome on drums. We love it anytime there's a long run of red and green notes we can pound! As for Trapt's "Who's Going Home With You Tonight?", the opening drum riff is fun, and Papa Roach's "Time is Running Out" is an easy, enjoyable song to sing.

WHAT SUCKS: Guitar on the Trapt tune is ho-hum, as is the Papa Roach guitar chart.

FINAL VERDICT: While we would've picked different tracks for all three artists if given the choice, what's here is quite fun, and as usual, we can't say no for a mere dollar per song.

COMMENTS:

They're pretty good songs, but I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed the free song this week. I'd have to say it was actually better than the three we have to pay for.

very, very simple, PUT DRAGON FORCE IN ROCK BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
