"Why don't I like Fallout 3? I just am not getting into it. I'm about 4 hours in and I'm supposed to be looking for a radio station. I am taking my time, doing some exploring and really trying to enjoy it. While I'm playing though, all I can think about is wanting to play something else."

3X Power-Up: Rock Band
WORDS BY: Dan Amrich

1. Like a real band, your Rock Band rock band relies on the drummer. Since the drummer can’t trigger Overdrive at any time the way the guitarists can, you need to watch for songs where they’re given a chance to play a fill, then trigger your Overdrive on their cue. If you're not playing with a drummer, then the singer should take priority for the same reason. You need to coordinate your Overdrive together or you'll never get 8x bonuses.
2. Drummers, on those fills, give your fellow bandmates a break – if you wind up going too nuts, they wind up losing the beat from your off-tempo whackin’, and then the whole band suffers. For the sake of the group, it’s better to keep playing the existing beat over the fill than to go nuts and set everybody else off. Keep it simple until you can do fancy stuff without derailing everybody else.
3. Still have Overdrive left when you go into a Big Rock Ending? Don’t waste it – you can use it on those outro solos and rack up even more bonus points. Sometimes that’s all you need to earn one more star.
