Army of Two sequel called Army of Four rumored

The next sequel to EA’s co-op third person shooter Army of Two will be a four-player game, according to an insider source. Prior games in the Army of Two series, as the franchise’s name suggests, focused solely on two-player co-op action. The new game is rumored to have the working title Army of Four and is being developed by EA Montreal using the Frostbite 2 engine. As the working title suggests, the new gameplay emphasis for Army of Four would be simultaneous four-player co-op.
The insider source claims that development on Army of Four has been difficult and that DICE may move some former Battlefield 3 developers over to assist EA Montreal with the project. Games in the Army of Two series currently include the original Army of Two, released in 2008, and last year’s Army of Two: The 40th Day. Both titles were originally developed by EA Montreal and include features like a cover system, weapon customization, and “morality moments” that let players choose how to react to in-game situations.
