Activision and Infinity Ward founders settle suit

The legal battle that began when Infinity Ward's co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella acrimoniously split from their studio (and parent company Activision) looks to have finally concluded. Numerous outlets reporting from Los Angeles (where the duo’s case against Activision was scheduled to commence this week) have stated that a settlement has been reached with the now-EA-affiliated Respawn Entertainment founders, effectively ending the legal battles being waged between the duo and Activision (a case between EA and Activision regarding the former’s hiring practices of West/Zampella was settled earlier this month).
As part of the settlement, the terms will not be disclosed, though its likely that the duo was awarded a decent amount, given the $13 million each of the founders were reported to have been owed upon their departure from the company. In return, Activision will be able to publish future Call of Duty installments without any likely further legal objections coming from the franchise’s original leads. West and Zampella’s first Respawn Entertainment game has yet to be announced.
