4J reveals full list of improvements coming in Minecraft's 1.8.2 update

In an effort to include as many PC features as possible in the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, 4J Studios has been toiling away on the game's 1.8.2 update trying to cram as much content in there as possible. Though 4J has been teasing 1.8.2 for a while now, the update has finally been sent off to Microsoft for certification. To celebrate, 4J divulged all the details on what's coming once the patch passes the tests.
Creative Mode is the biggest addition coming, but along with that comes a wealth of other fixes and new content. A ton of new food items (melons, pumpkins, raw meat) and new craftable items (glass pane, fence gate, iron bars) will be coming, as will all the new terrain features such as Strongholds, Villages, Abandoned Mineshafts and Ravines.
Smaller fixes like improved sunsets/sunrises, some new animations, and a taller cloud height are on the way as well. With all the new improvements, there will be some adjustments made to the tutorial, which should help ease players into the massive amount of features and fixes in this hefty update. There will be some new hosting options included as well, which allow players hosting a session to toggle on/off things like PvP, Trust Player (allowing users to mine without permission), fire spread, TNT explosions, and host privileges.
There's still no date on when 1.8.2 will arrive, but typically, Microsoft's certification process lasts about two weeks. Waiting just a few more weeks shouldn't be too hard now that we know approximately when 1.8.2 will be arriving. In the meantime, you can check out a complete list of everything 1.8.2 will be bringing along with it over at PlayXBLA.
