3X Power-Up...For Cheaters: Scene It?
1. Ring in on Anagram and Quotables questions before you even read them. Those questions are easier to figure out when you can see the potential answers on-screen, and you’ll more often than not be able to come up with the correct response during the four seconds that you’re staring directly at it.
2. An unscrupulous gamer will note that they can see all the other players’ choices on Sequentials, which happen to be some of the toughest questions in the game. You’ll come in last if you take a silent poll of your competition’s answers before selecting your own, but that’s the price you pay for insurance. For the perfect example of proper technique, see the screen below. You are Red and you haven't buzzed in yet. Green is wrong, but Yellow and Blue agree. Your hunch is confirmed — ring in now.

3. When you’re playing with an overpowered trivia dork, there’s only one thing left to do: Cheat. Those Big Button Controllers work via infared, meaning they need line of sight to the receiver, like any television remote control does. If creative couchcushion placement doesn’t block their signal, perhaps some black tape cut to fit their controller’s transmitter window will do the trick — at least for the first few questions, during which you can build a decent lead. When they claim their controller isn’t working, offer to go get them fresh batteries, leave the room with it, and remove the tape. We recommend non-marring gaffer tape, available at larger hardware stores or theater-supply websites.
